Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using MCindex (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service. MCindex is a community-ranked Minecraft server listing platform. By using our site, you agree to these terms. MCindex is not affiliated with Minecraft, Mojang Studios, or Microsoft.

Eligibility and Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use MCindex. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 13, you may not use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

Accounts and Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • We reserve the right to disable accounts that violate these Terms
  • You may not share your account credentials with others

Adding Servers

  • You must own the server or have explicit permission from the owner to add it
  • Only one listing per server is allowed
  • Server details must be accurate, truthful, and appropriate
  • No hateful, illegal, adult, or infringing content is permitted
  • Tags must accurately reflect your server's gameplay and features
  • You may not impersonate other servers or use misleading information

Voting

  • You may vote once per server per day
  • Voting must be done manually by humans, not bots or automated scripts
  • You may not use VPNs, proxies, or other methods to circumvent voting limits
  • We may remove votes and take action against accounts engaged in fraudulent voting
  • Servers offering rewards for votes must deliver promised rewards

Content and Data

When you add a server to MCindex:

  • We may ping your server regularly to collect status data (players online, version, MOTD, server-icon, etc.)
  • This data will be displayed publicly on our site and made available through our API
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute this information
  • You represent that you have the right to share any content you submit
  • You retain ownership of your content, but grant us the rights necessary to operate the Service

Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Upload or transmit any content that infringes intellectual property rights

Intellectual Property

Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios/Microsoft. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

Server icons, banners, and descriptions submitted by users remain the property of their respective owners, but by submitting them to MCindex, you grant us the right to display them on our platform.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Inappropriate content or behavior
  • Voting system abuse or fraud
  • At our sole discretion

You may also terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF PERFORMANCE. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of any information displayed on the Service, including server status and player counts.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of MCindex after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
